Résumé | In this study, we examine trans-situational consistency in pro-environmental behaviours related to waste sorting. More specifically, we study the consistency between home and workplace. Based on the literature, we anticipate that consistency would be associated with the perceived similarity of situations and the determinants of behavioural intention. 375 participants responded to an online questionnaire measuring the determinants of intention, similarity of situations and the occurrence, frequency and magnitude of waste sorting at work and at home. Results indicated that the behaviour, its magnitude and its frequency were predicted by perceived control and situational similarity. With regard to occurrence and magnitude, when perceived similarity was low, behavioural control predicted consistency. These results are discussed from the point of view of the practices related to the dissemination of pro-environmental behaviours. |
