Résumé

Understanding the existing relationship between child care and professional is important, especially if we consider this relationship as the basis of the pact care in pediatric palliative situation. Indeed, the type of relationship between professional and patient will influence the quality of communication between the professional and the child and family, communication itself having a major impact on the quality of comprehensive care offered to child and family. Through this article, we propose to study the care giving relationship with the child in palliative situation and his family from the different types of relationships encountered in our pediatric practice. Three models are described: asymmetric care relationship, the adversarial relationship and finally, the ``erasure'' of relationship. Different lines of thought are exposed in an attempt to establish or re-establish a balance in the professionnal-patient relationship. (C) 2018 Elsevier Masson SAS. All rights reserved.
