Résumé

This study analyses the interpretation of identitemes in literary texts and in their translations. Identitemes are first examined in relation to the phenomenon of linguistic frozenness and, correlatively, to collective memory. The essay also examines the relationship between the process of manipulation that gives rise to punning, and the patrimonialization process that ensures the birth of an identiteme. It is through the cultural dimension contained in any literary text -by trying to establish a relationship between the cultural and the identarian- that we study the role of identitemes, culturemes, culturally marked phrasemes, word play and pragmatemes. The analysis of translation and the conceptualization of the difficulties posed by the translation of these different types of expressions are revealing, as they allow us to identify certain distinctive features of identitemes.
