Résumé | The unavailability of the electricity is one of the biggest obstacles for the development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) services in emerging countries. In this paper, we propose a new strategy in order to optimize the exploitation of solar energy system in emerging countries to power Small cell Base Stations (SBS). Our proposed strategy is based on Markov Decision Process (MDP) strategy that we use to make decisions according to weather conditions evolution and battery level. The MDP strategy aims to choose the optimal decision regarding the use of the surplus power between keeping this energy to insure the operation of the SBS only or use it for both: SBS powering and mobile phones charging. We show that our strategy helps to optimize the use of solar energy without impacting Small cell Base Station availability. |
