Résumé

The evolution of wireless technologies engendered the conception of vehicular networks, which prove to be a good solution to many serious problems related to road safety. Since vehicles are characterized by a high mobility of nodes, that pose many research challenges, mobility patterns can significantly affect the results of the simulation. In this paper, the impact of the mobility model on VANETs' simulation is addressed, generating realistic vehicle tracks and random traces. The obtained results, using NS3 network simulator, show that, to achieve reliable results, in case of vehicular networks' simulation, a realistic mobility model is primordial. VANETS' performances are also investigated, according to three consistent parameters: the transmission delay, the packet loss, and the throughput.
