Résumé

CODESNA a new tool that has been developed to evaluate chronic stress in a fast, precise, repeatable and non-invasive way. The aim of the present work was to determine if it is possible to observe the fluctuations of the autonomic nervous system (ANS) with CODESNA, and to check if it is a valid tool to evaluate the fatigue induced by a physical or mental activity. The focus of this research is quantitative, with a non-experimental design and correlational cross-sectional type. The sample is composed of apparently healthy and pathological subjects between 21 and 33 years of age who were given a physical test and a mental test, in addition to the application of the reference tests Stroop, Reaction Time, Brums and VAS. The results show that for both physical and mental tests, it is possible to evidence the fluctuation of the ANS activity through the CODESNA software. It was also found that there are differences in heart rate behavior, autonomic nervous system imbalance and amplitude of heart rate variation in pathological versus healthy subjects. It was concluded that, through the CODESNA system it is possible to observe the fluctuation of the ANS as long as its functioning is monitored daily, and it is considered a valid tool to evaluate fatigue induced by physical or mental activity. However, the results of this research need to be confirmed in subsequent studies with larger populations and under different conditions.
