Résumé

Neurosurgeons require a good sense of three-dimensional spatial perception based on diagnostic imaging and patient's brain anatomy, a correct handling of surgical instruments and a very good fine motor control, the acquisition of these skills can only be achieved through continued practical experience. This paper presents preliminary results of the implementation of an instrumented glove for the capture of hand gestures and movements, and its integration to NSTrainer, a neurosurgical simulator developed by Universidad de Antioquia. Data acquired by this glove could be used to assess fine motor skills and evaluate the use of surgical instruments.
