Résumé

Very few studies have explored dietary patterns in the course of aging. Here we summarize 3 cross-sectional analyses carried out among seniors enrolled in the French NutriNet-Sante cohort. The results confirm the diversity of eating habits among the elderly in France. The analysis of dietary patterns showed that the ``healthy'' pattern explained most of the variance in food intake among seniors. Modest and age-dependent associations were observed between oral health and adherence to the PNNS dietary guidelines. Finally, it is possible that certain results reflect an evolution in food consumption in favor of better compliance with nutritional guidelines in the course of aging. These epidemiological results provide updated information about the characteristics and determinants of the eating behaviors of French seniors. In the future, longitudinal research with representative samples would be necessary in order to extend this work and guide the development of public health strategies.
