Résumé

This paper presents an efficient approach to reduce simulation time over railway driving cycle. Firstly, the torque-speed map of the driving cycle is discretized into different regions that are represented by a single operating point which is called energy center. This first step is not sufficient when a large lumped parameter thermal model is used to calculate the heating of the motor. Thus, a methodology to reduce the thermal model is described and applied for a real railway driving cycle. Finally, the use of the energy centers with a reduced thermal model enables a strong reduction of the simulation time with a factor of around 15.
