Résumé

Since the first declaration of Alma-Ata in 1978, primary care (PC) has evolved significantly to meet the needs of the population. As a result of demographic changes, the population has experienced an increase in morbidity. The development of multiprofessional teams was necessary to provide better support for people living with chronic diseases and focus on the prevention and promotion of health. The world's population suffers from chronic diseases. A predominance of certain chronic diseases can be noticed from one country to another, but the solutions offered to the populations have been similar. International collaborations can help professionals gain a different perspective on the care that is offered elsewhere for chronic diseases for the populations that predominate in their respective countries. This article reports the shared experience of a group of young international PC professionals during a PC formation. In July 2018, University of Angers organized the international PC Summer School. In total, 13 participants from different countries with different background attended to this summer school. In this formation, presentations from experts in different disciplines, workshops and group activities took place. Additionally, design and presentation of a research longitudinal project were made by the participants with the supervision of the program organizers. Overall, the experience of this summer school has allowed for the acquisition of knowledge, the confrontation of international perspectives, and the team work of PC professionals. This type of training could be developed to deploy interprofessional and international cooperation and to improve the quality of PC.
