News of Slavery: Analysis of the Exploitation of Migrant Workers

Slavery was officially abolished. However, there still exist in our societies situations of slavery fueled generated by the current economic system. Migrant workers, seasonal workers or illegal people, working in the agricultural sector in southern Europe are an example. These are in effect in a situation of dependence or alienation, deprived of the effectiveness of fundamental rights indispensable for their dignity as human beings, socially excluded and exploited, these elements characterize slavery.
