Résumé

This paper describes a real-time solution for the calculation of power depending on frequency bandwidth, using a digitalized signal, performed by an Analog to Digital Converter (ADC), and a low-cost Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). We propose an efficient design & implementation for the calculation of such power. Having a very low latency, this solution gives simultaneously power values of multiple bandwidth signals under strong variations. The accuracy of calculation and the number of sub-bands only depend on the FPGA resources. Such solution is highly sought for power control in many applications of communication, as Automatic Gain Control (AGC) in Base Station Transceiver (BTS) and repeaters.
