Résumé

The Friction Stir Processing (FSP) is an innovative surface engineering method, considered as a green processing technique. A good physical understanding of the process can be reached by the combined efforts of experimental examination and numerical modelling. In this paper, a three-dimensional heat transfer model for FSP is presented. Then, a numerical inverse method that allows to estimate the Coulomb friction coefficient mu combining experimental test, finite element simulations and optimization is developed.
