Résumé

Plano-convex quartz crystal resonators can exhibit quality-factors close to a billion at 4K. They are also suitable to operate as optical cavities. As a consequence they are good candidates for optomechanic experiments including quartz-based cryogenic clocks. The paper is focused on the latter application and demonstrates its feasability.
