The Adolescent Body in the Face of Uncertainty: a Longitudinal Qualitative Analysis of Adolescents Suffering from Cancer

The physical body is the focus of attention when we speak about adolescence and serious illness. However, there are other bodies to consider: illness and adolescence also call upon familial and cultural bodies. Reflections on the adolescent body have been produced by a longitudinal study which focuses on the dynamics of uncertainty in adolescents who are suffering from cancer. A clinical case will illustrate the action of bodies at different stages of the illness.
